What is GUTS?*

GUTS was created by CRAFTED, a marketing agency in Charlotte, North Carolina and introduced to Orange County in 2016 by 454 Creative in partnership with AIGA Orange County and Make-A-Wish® Orange County and the Inland Empire.

The event is a friendly pumpkin carving competition for local and regional creative professionals. This community-wide event attracts the best creative talent in the area as well as the support of generous sponsors. The primary goal of GUTS is to unify the creative community in support of a worthy and meaningful cause, Make-A-Wish® Orange County and the Inland Empire — an organization that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions

My role

In collaboration with AIGA OC and 454 Creative I co-lead programming and organization of event.  Utilizing brand guidelines provided by CRAFTED, I designed the website in collaboration with web development team, web graphics, some print material, and art directed creation of event material to ensure consistency. By far, this project was one of the most meaningful work I've done in my career and proud to have worked with a group of passionate people who truly cared about the cause. The results were well received with over $20,000 in funds raised to grant multiple wishes.
